 Sherry Miller and Kandi Gongora will introduce the audience to Park Place and summarize their transformation from single-point dealership to multi-franchise luxury automotive group and Malcolm Baldrige Award winner, sharing both processes and anecdotes from this journey. They will outline their client-centric philosophy and share the role of Human Resources in recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, training and developing their most valuable asset — their members.

About the Speakers

Sherry Miller, Vice President, Human Resources, Park Place Dealerships

In May, 2003, Sherry Miller joined Park Place as the VP of Human Resources.  She brought with her more than 30 years of experience in human resource functions.  Before adding the automotive industry to her vast resume, she has held positions in various industries, such as insurance, oil & gas, manufacturing, and high tech.   

She obtained her degree in business from Dallas Baptist University, graduating cum laude, and received her Masters degree in Organizational Management from DBU.  Sherry is also a current member of the Society of Human Resource Management, the Dallas Human Resource Association, Dallas/Fort Worth Staffing Management Association and the SMU Human Resources Roundtable.

Kandi Gongora - Director of Organizational Excellence, Park Place Dealerships

Joining Park Place in 2001, Gongora was brought on to lead the quality and business excellence initiative based on her extensive experience and success. Her knowledge of process management, strategic planning, leadership development, Baldrige criteria and corporate training added an entirely new and valuable dimension to Park Place’s vision of becoming the unparalleled automotive dealership in the United States.    

During her tenure at Park Place, Dallas’ premier luxury automotive group, Gongora’s most notable achievement has been leading Park Place Lexus to become the first automotive dealership to achieve the Malcolm Baldrige Award.  Prior to this achievement, she led Park Place Lexus Plano to become the Texas Award for Performance Excellence recipient in 2003.
